As Director of the Board of Elections, Mr. Dickerson oversees election practices and procedures in Mecklenburg County, including voter administration, precinct management, absentee and early voting, candidate registration, and campaign finance.

About the Speaker

A graduate of Guilford College, Michael Dickerson joined the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections as its director in 1998. Previously, he served as deputy assistant staff director for the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Elections Assistance Commission Standards Board, the International Association of Government Officials, and the North Carolina Directors of Elections.
